How to Create a Successful Life

Updated: Mar 22, 2023

The very idea of connecting art to success seems unreasonable.

At first glance there seems to be no correlation. Art is art and success is success.

Art: Something that is created with imagination and skill and that is beautiful or that expresses important ideas or feelings.

Success: n. the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.

Interesting.

They seem to be from two different planets other than they are both nouns.

So, where do these connect and why is art important in being successful?

Let’s start with success. What does it take to be successful?

Commitment. Drive. Ability. Follow through.

Now let’s see how we can apply this to life.

Let’s tackle that garage! : )

So, what is the problem with most garages?

At first glance it is overwhelming. There are lots of random items that don’t seem to have a home.

There can’t possibly be enough room in that garage to accommodate all of those random items!

Well, how can we set ourselves up to be successful in this instance?

I’ll give you a hint:

We can follow the same rules an ARTIST follows:

1. Accept the challenge. (Decide that you CAN do it.)

2. Define the rules. (Decide what is the purpose of the drawer. Decide what items will stay and what items will go. Decide what organizing tools you’ll need to get the best use of the space. Decide how much money you’re willing to spend to achieve your goal. Decide how much time you have to do it.

3. Master your craft. (Move things around. Try different options. Be willing to fail.)

4. & 5. Infuse you & Elevate Your Skill – (Work that space until you have used it to its most effective point. Use your own insight, taste, quirkiness, perspective and needs to get there.)

Well, what do we have here?

wall of organized tools. Life is art.

You have a nicely organized garage that represents your own personal style.

Nice!

So when we peak into the arena of success, what do we find?

We find a person who is willing to be an ARTIST. A person who is willing to commit to a task, use their drive to fully understand what is needed to accomplish it, work hard at the task, and use their own personal experience, personality or perspective to cross the finish line.

Yay!

As ARTISTS we create something else extremely valuable.

We create freedom.

WOW! I LOVE THAT!

The beauty of success is that we can create freedom on a daily basis.

When we start to view our daily tasks in life as opportunities for success, life can change instantly.

When we cook breakfast, is it life or is it art?

When we dress, is it life or is it art?

When we organize that drawer, is it life or is it art?

Go ahead and create your life.

And when you do it exceptionally well and add a bit of you to those projects!

Very well done!

You are an ARTIST!

I see it.

With Great Love,

Annie
